I had a wonderfully pleasant stay at a family-run hotel tucked away in the La Gomera hills. The room I stayed in had a balcony with fine views of both the mountains and the sea. The hotel was impeccably clean, even with hikers traipsing in with dirty shoes. The shower had high water pressure and the temperature was perfect. Breakfast was accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice and the staff even offered me something to wrap my bread roll without me having to ask.
